best bread ever.


often when we have guests at our house i like to take the opportunity to try out a new recipe. it may not be the best idea especially if you are prone to ‘pinterest fails’ like i am. however, this recipe turned out perfectly and you have to try it!

cinnamon swirl chocolate chip bread

to make the cinnamon swirl:

1/3 cup of sugar

1 Tbs cinnamon

mix together in a bowl and set aside.

to make the bread:

1 egg

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup sugar

1 cup buttermilk (diy buttermilk: 1 Tbs lemon juice and milk to make 1 cup. mix and let stand for 5 minutes)

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1 tsp vanilla

2 cups of flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

2/3 cup chocolate chips (mini or regular)

mix the bread ingredients together. {some people are picky with mixing wet and dry ingredients in separate bowls and ‘folding’ them together. i’m lazy and just throw it all into my kitchen aid making sure not to over mix.}

preheat your oven to 350 and spray a 9X5 loaf pan. pour half of the batter into the pan and sprinkle with cinnamon swirl mixture until covered {leaving enough to sprinkle on the top} pour the remaining batter and top with the cinnamon mixture. cover with foil and bake for an hour!
