instagram roundup

hey friends! sorry I’ve been MIA from the blog this week. Andrew finished his clinical last Friday so I took a few days off to spend some relaxing time with him before school starts again. we are also in the process of moving apartments which is a HUGE job. today I thought I’d share with you some things from my instagram!

the weather has cooled off significantly this week. as hard as it is to say goodbye to summer, it means that I get to wear fall outfits! also caribou has fall drinks on their menu now so make sure you go try those out!

this was one of my favorite outfits this summer. floral shorts, eyelet tank and a little bling.

this is one of the tops I got in my le tote! {find the full post here} the print and style of this tank are so cute. ps. the lipstick I am wearing is Maybelline’s electric pink that I talked about here! it is bright but it has been my favorite this summer!

hope y’all have a great Friday and if you don’t already follow me on instagram @thoseprettypieces.

fall booties

is anyone else just so excited for fall? most of these adorable booties are from target and are BOGO 50% off! the two that aren’t {5 and 7} were just way to cute not to include!number 1 and 3 are perfect for transitioning from summer into fall. currently I only have one pair of booties. surprising right? so if I can narrow it down to my favorites i’ll have to add them to my closet this season. what fall booties are your favorite?

hope you all had a great weekend! we had a busy weekend in fargo attending a 31 party, saying goodbye to my sister and brother in law as they move to Alaska this week, and spending time with my sister in law and her fiancé!

country girl

when I think of summer in the midwest I think country music. whether that is jamming out on the pontoon or a concert at the fair. either way its time to find your favorite country style. here are three outfits paired with cowgirl boots from King Ranch to give you some inspiration for that next country concert!

southern belle

outfit one will bring a feminine touch to your country outfit! these equestrian boots go great with a cute dress.

classic country

outfit two is just like it says: classic. grab your cutoffs and favorite flannel and get ready to dance the night away in these great boots!

just a little country

outfit three includes these amazing red boots. i also love these turquoise boots! you can’t go wrong with adding a little country flare to your outfit.

of course if you ask me, i think classic country is the way to go! its perfect to tie your flannel around your waist during the day when its hot and throw it on when the sun goes down. if i ever get the chance to go to my girl carrie underwood’s show you bet this will be my country style. make sure to check out the cowboy boots selection at King Ranch here for that man in your life. {these and these are my personal favorites!}

what about you? what is your favorite look?

le tote

my friend katie {@katielynnanderson_} introduced me to le tote. it is a subscription where you receive 3 clothing items and 2 accessories. you are encouraged to wear the items as much as you please for as long as you’d like. when you are done, send the items back and they’ll send you a whole new tote!

I was really excited to get try this top! the detail in the front is so trendy right now and it would be a perfect staple for fall. {I purchased my hat from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and LOVE it! there are only a few days left of the sale so snag it before the price goes up Aug 8. the grey is sold out but you can still get it in black!}

back to the reality that it is still summer ha. this tank is so cute. the pattern, the cut, everything!

this oversized tank was probably the item I wore the most. it is so versatile! you can dress it up, dress it down, tuck it in the possibilities are endless. well maybe not endless but I love it!

I’ve been on the hunt for a new purse all summer long. I really liked the basket weave pattern but I think I need something just a bit bigger.

lastly, this scarf. unfortunately its been about 100 degrees the last few weeks so I didn’t get much wear out of the scarf. I do however really like the summery print!

le tote was fun to try! unlike stitch fix, you can customize what you get. I liked having the control to pick and choose. work limits my wardrobe to about 5 different colors so it was nice to have items I could wear at work since that is where I spend most of my time. if you would like to give le tote a try let me know! I have 3 free totes to give. send me your email and give it a try!

if any of you follow me on social media, you’ll know that we took a little camping trip with some friends to Medora. this is the 2nd annual Medora camping trip and we had such a blast! all of us met at NDSU and were involved in a campus ministry called Cru. there is never a dull moment with these guys and we have go pro footage to prove it!

if you’ve never been, Medora is a cute town in the Theodore Roosevelt national park. it is a hopping tourist place in the summer that is known for its nightly musical. {and ice cream in my opinion. we made sure to get it every day!} even though there are hotels, we opted to tent for a little more adventure. and adventure is what we got when it stormed all. night. long!

this year we decided to take a hike to the Petrified Forest. {wood that has turned into rock} it was about 90 degrees with little to no wind but we did it!  pictures just don’t do this place justice. it is such a little gem in the otherwise flat plains of North Dakota.

hope you’re all soaking up these last few weeks of summer!
