blogger inspired fall looks

happy friday everyone! I don’t know about where you are at, but here in north dakota the leaves are all changing to gorgeous gold colors and the weather is crisp. it is officially fall and I am in love! I wish I had the time and resources to bring you my own fall outfits, but I rounded up some inspiration from these beautiful bloggers. enjoy!

{source: sequins & things}

I talked about this outfit in my h&m post here. I love when bloggers style things that are budget friendly!

{source: style cusp}

style cusp is a ‘new to me’ blog. I saw this outfit on her instagram! love me a good blanket scarf!

{source: for the love of fancy}

kate is {clearly} pregnant but she has some amazing fall style. what are your thoughts on the ‘over the knee boot’ trend?

{source: southern curls and pearls}

this outfit has been my favorite from caitlyn this fall. such an easy but cute look!

{source: mckenna bleu}

I wouldn’t normally think to wear pastels in the fall but mckenna is rockin’ it! I’m in love with her gray distressed jeans!

{source: a spoonful of style}

clearly this mustard color is popular this season! also can we just talk about her front porch? so cute!

effortless style from emily gemma! the sleeves on this sweater are adorable {click the link to see more angles of this look}

hope y’all have a great weekend. my parents are coming to visit and its been close to 8 weeks since I have seen them last. can’t wait to show them our new apartment!

h&m opening day

last thursday h&m opened their first store in north dakota! if you follow me on instagram {@thoseprettypieces} you saw that of course i was right there when the ribbon was cut. i found out months ago that h&m was coming to our local mall in the fall and i could. not. wait. here are some of my favorite fall items from h&m!

|one| i first saw this sweater on alyson haley’s blog here. she styled it so cute and looks great in the mustard color. it comes in 6 different colors and is only $24.99!

|two| where are my bison fans at? this color-block scarf would be perfect as you wait in line for the football game. it comes in 2 other colors but just i had to share this one!

|three| this dress is a fall staple for sure!

|four| my mom is probably going to get a kick out of the fact i included these faux leather leggings because when i was probably in 3rd grade i just HAD to have these leather pants. i think these are so fun and would love to get a pair! {see them styled by my favorite bloggers here and here}

|five|y’all know i love felt hats and this burgundy color is gorgeous!

|six| my sister in law and i had talked about whether we liked fur vests when they were popular last fall. {you reading this addy?} i’m still not positive if i can pull it off but i do like the look!

|seven| this vest comes in a light gray as well!

congratulations on your new store h&m and welcome to north dakota!

introducing: stitch fix for men

Recently stitch fix announced stitch fix for men! beforehand, stitch fix only offered women’s clothing and accessories and I am so excited to see them expanding {they are also launching plus sizes spring 2017!} my husband is so supportive of me and my blog and agreed to help me out and order a fix so I could give y’all a preview!

he received these black jeans and pocket henley. Andrew is tall and slim so I figured there was no way these jeans would fit him. however, they actually fit really nice and were long enough! {which never happens} they also had a rubber strip in the back pocket to keep your wallet secure which we thought was a cool feature. I thought this shirt looked really nice on him but he isn’t a fan of henleys.

next was this plaid button up. this shirt fit him really well but we both agreed that the color was not a winner.

as most of you know, Andrew is a student so his fix was more on the casual side. they sent him this polo and zip up hoodie which I paired with his favorite PF flyer sneakers. {sandlot anyone?} I think what I was most impressed with was that every item fit him! he can have a hard time finding clothes that fit him well.

I’m thinking stitch fix for men is going to be a big hit! maybe you’re a guy who enjoys style and wants something “different” than what you can get locally. maybe you just hate going to the mall but need some new clothes. maybe you’re a wife {fiancé, girlfriend etc} and are wanting to revamp your mans wardrobe. whatever category you fit into give it a try. click here to get started! what did you think of Andrews fix?

stitch fix no.4

new season=new stitch fix! this is my fourth box and I was so excited to see what new items they had for fall. been wanting to try stitch fix? click here to get started!

I received both this striped sweater dress and the white sneakers in my fix. wearing white sneakers with dresses is really popular this season. {see a similar outfit done by my gorgeous cousin Lauren here} I’m not sure that this look is really my style. how in the world could I keep these sneaks white anyhow? what are your thoughts?

next was this adorable sweater {with elbow patches!!!} as well as an olive colored vest. I had asked for a vest like this in previous fixes and was so excited to see it in my box this time around. however, even cinched up it was much too big. huge bummer!  {my booties are new from charlotte russe. you can find them here}

scarves are one of my fall staples and i loved the color of this one! I decided to pair this one from my fix with my new dress {i got it at tj maxx} pretty sure this dress will be on repeat all season.

hope you all have a great glad it is finally FRIDAY! check back next week for some exciting news from stitch fix!

white coat

last night I had the privilege of watching my husband receive his white coat. {the white coat ceremony marks the student’s transition from the study of preclinical to clinical health sciences}  for those of you who do not know,  Andrew is currently in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at the University of Mary. I think we often forget how big of an accomplishment it is for him to be in the program. there were hundreds of applicants fighting for just 48 spots and he is one of the 48! Andrew I am so proud of you for getting through your first year of school. you work so hard and I know it isn’t always easy. you have an amazing attitude and you’re going to be an excellent physical therapist someday.

congratulations drew! now go kick these next two years in the hiney!

hair envy

hello! there are so many bloggers and youtubers that share hair tutorials. however, there are a few that I have come to know and love that I wanted to share with you.

simple braid| vertical lace braid| the great collaboration

the first one is abby smith from the blog twist me pretty. this chick literally does it all. she is a wife, a mom of four, full time blogger and hair guru. these three are some of my particular favorites but check out more on her youtube channel here!

little french knots| double half up with a twist| not just a pony tail

equally a favorite is kate bryan from the small things blog. kate actually started her blog by doing hair tutorials for her clients at the salon she worked at. although she still does hair tutorials, she also shares about life with her family and does beauty product reviews. she also has a youtube channel that you can find here! {you can find my rendition of the little french knots in this post}

twisted side braid

this hairstyle is adorable and comes from julia engel’s blog gal meets glam. julia’s blog mostly contains beautiful travel pictures and chic outfit posts but on occasion she shares a hair tutorial.

mohawk braid top knot

braid into a half bun? this girl gets me! missy sue’s blog is one i stumble upon from time to time. she is so talented and some of her hairstyles are super intricate. she is also on youtube so make sure to check her out!

clearly i am loving braids but aren’t we all? hope you love these hairstyles as much as i do. to find more make sure to visit these ladies blogs and youtube channels.
